THE DECLARATION

We are Thronos.

We believe that every person is capable of becoming more than they presently are, and that worthwhile things are built by people willing to become capable of building them.

We will seek God.

We will follow Christ.

We will pursue truth, even when truth requires us to change.

We will learn.

We will develop our minds, our character, our skills, our discipline, and our capacity to carry responsibility.

We will become capable.

We will take responsibility for what has been entrusted to us.

We will build.

We will repair what we can repair.

We will create where something new is needed.

We will serve.

We will use what we have become capable of carrying for the good of others.

We will help one another.

We will teach what we know, share what we have, open doors where we can, and strengthen those around us.

We will allow ourselves to be helped.

We will not confuse independence with strength, nor assistance with weakness.

We will meet reality honestly.

We will test our ideas.

We will learn from failure.

We will correct ourselves when we are wrong.

We will not allow pride to make a prison of our mistakes.

We will not measure the worth of a person by wealth, status, influence, achievement, or recognition.

We will take small responsibilities seriously.

We will remember that greater capacity brings greater responsibility.

We will seek neither domination nor entitlement, but faithful stewardship.

We will pursue our ambitions without making them our gods.

We will build the future we desire to live in while submitting our desires, plans, and work to the will of God.

We will not merely speak of the world we wish existed.

We will become the people capable of helping create it.

For we know that:

“I want to” is not yet “I will.” “I will” is not yet “I have.”

Between them lies the work.

The learning. The discipline. The failure. The correction. The people. The courage. The patience. The building.

That is where we will meet one another.

That is where Thronos exists.

We will seek to become the change we wish to see, and build the future we desire to live in.

And whatever we build, whatever we become, and whatever we accomplish,

may it be done faithfully, truthfully, and for the glory of God.
