Safeguarding

Section 1: Purpose

Thronos recognizes a responsibility to protect people who participate in its activities, communities, Projects, Gatherings, and other structures from abuse, exploitation, neglect, harassment, coercion, and avoidable harm.

Safeguarding is the responsibility of the organization and of every person entrusted with authority or responsibility within it.

The dignity and safety of people shall take precedence over the reputation, convenience, growth, or interests of Thronos.

Section 2: Protection of Children and Vulnerable Persons

Thronos shall take particular care where its activities involve children or persons who may be especially vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, coercion, or manipulation.

Where Thronos works directly with children or vulnerable persons, appropriate safeguarding standards, supervision, consent procedures, background checks, training, and other protective measures shall be established according to the nature of the activity and applicable law.

No person's vulnerability shall be treated as an opportunity for personal, financial, sexual, spiritual, or other exploitation.

Section 3: Abuse and Exploitation

Abuse of any kind is prohibited within Thronos activities and spaces.

This includes, among other forms:

physical abuse;

sexual abuse or exploitation;

emotional or psychological abuse;

coercive or controlling behaviour;

financial exploitation;

spiritual abuse;

deliberate intimidation;

and exploitation of a person's vulnerability or dependence.

A person's position of authority, religious standing, expertise, wealth, age, or influence shall not excuse abusive conduct.
